Alan Gordon
One man and his songs
Alan is a 25 year old Bus Driver (with a degree!) who taught himself to play guitar but admits he is still " A long way short of being a guitarist".
Previously a member of Vale Mark 2 and Vale Mark 3, Alan finally decided to go solo in December 2005. He has written many songs, all of which he says are "based loosely on my life, my experiences and how I hate the world at times!"
Alan takes his songwriting seriously but also said "If i was out to get a hit single and be famous it would be different, but all i want is to write my songs. If you like them great. If you don't, then fuck off and listen to something else!"
He currently uses Audacity on his PC for recordings which limits sound quality.
He has many influences including Ocean Colour Scene, Travis, Small Faces, Willy Mason and Richard Ashcroft.
Alan has performed at many open mic nights and a few gigs (including retrofest 2007) and is looking to expand into more gigs around the Falkirk and Edinburgh area.
Alan continues to write songs and does so whenever he gets hit with inspiration and believes his music shouldnt be forced. With an ever growing repotoire he is looking forward to saving some money and getting to a recording studio for some proper recording.
